Metroid has been around since the late 1980’s. One of the first of many franchises nintendo has got its hands on. It has futuristic sci-fi type story that typically takes place on many different planets(25% of the series does involve this one crazy planet which the main character has some back story with thats vaguely or not stated in the games ,and the people the main character lived and fought with has no interest in staying their.) Theres even dragons which sounds like a complete parallel,and a bit whacky from what I said before. The dragons are somewhat intelligent.It would be crazy if they had voices considering their levels of intelligence sometimes,but they don’t. Some creatures in the games have some sort of serious backstory with the main character. Metroid mostly consists of 2d games which scroll sideways. Their’s several that are 3d and are played in first person or third person perspective. The first person offshoot of the series metroid prime has about 5 installments 3 of those being true sequels(as those games consist of 1,2, and 3 in their names.) where as the other 2 are not as important. It will get a 4th true sequel at some point in the future. I doubt it will be this year(2020.) It was announced it would be delayed in 2019,and retro studios the original developers of the previous 3 big games is now the ones working on it. They had gave it to bandai namco originally. Retro Studios had last worked on metroid prime 3 back in 2007. The last prime spin-off was released for metroids anniversary back in 2015 they had another one I believe for the remake of metroid 2. Retro was the ones who were in charge of the prime games really back then. Before federation force(the spin-off. The federation is like a cross between the military and police. their was a game called metroid: other m. For certain people it had been since 2015 since the last game for metroid had came out that people actually liked until the remake of metroid 2 came. For some it was as far back as 2010 unless you didn’t like the remakes and/or the first prime game when the latest installment in the metroid (metroid fusion or metroid 4.)series came out ,and nothing later has been made since(whether you thought it was good or not. In terms of story it was a bit weird to make since of. All though their is something that I heard about that I believe that only people have recently discovered that I think makes since of it maybe. Something we may or may not be able to do yet though.)They just kept adding to earlier points in the timeline. In fact Metroid: other m was said to completely make metroid prime non-cannon(or may have attempted to at least.)Metroid has a manga that came out some time later after the first game was made. I’ve never read the manga myself ,but I’ve heard of stuff from the manga from watching youtube videos. It covers stuff that are in the games ,and are not in the games. Theirs a lot of lore to this series. The main character you play as (federation force absent from this. A lot of people didn’t like they took the main character out in that game.)is female like your ellen ripley from alien. Metroids are creatures you go up against in this series. Just like metroid prime is a creature(its a type of metroid. Neanderthal to a homo sapien pretty much.) Their not really blatant rip-offs of aliens ,but it does sort of give you that vibe. The name of this character is samus aran. Not a very common name,but its a name. Theirs a lot more to go on. Metroid prime most of the game is mostly on a planet that you don’t ever return to again afterward,but does have a connection with planets she has been to in the series(good and bad.)

Its questionable how they plan on bringing back metroid prime back into the series after prime 3. Metroid primes came back in several ways. What they show at the end of prime 3 is a bit miss leading. Its enough that people began to create theories about what they were seeing. Maybe prime will come back in another way much like optimus prime in the transformer movies and other various medias hes been seen in. In a way you wouldn’t expect. Why call a game series after something that’s in the game ,and make another sequel with that title when hes not returning or in it at all. They’ve kind of did that before with federation force obviously as well samus not being the main character for some reason,and as a federation trooper or 4 troopers(Its meant to be played multi-player. Have the option to be single though if you want.) All that keeps being done with metroid for a little while is remakes or adding to the prime series which may or may not be cannon. Could say that other m isn’t cannon and the prime games are as they mention events from certain games ,and foreshadow events that happens later in the timeline. Except metroid other m since it was made after prime. You could say fusion is a thing since theirs things you can do with metroid prime that involves the game fusion ,but nothing that involves story( Metroid fusion came out around the same time.)Maybe Metroid will pull a star fox ,and come out with metroid 5. Metroid prime has a connectivity feature with the gameboy advance since its on the gamecube. Metroid prime looked pretty good for its time. Not very many gamecube games looked as good as prime. The nintendo wii was about as powerful yet it did so much better. The gamecube was more powerful than the ps2 and the controller was really good. Clearly their was some other reason why ps2 beat the gamecube. Other than maybe the games being bigger,but looking worse. If metroid prime was as big in-game as it was clearly you didn’t need a that much at the time as the game would look worse. You could actually go online with the gamecube ,but it was rather lacking in that area compared to ps2. Their weren’t many who went online. Wireless controllers were a thing before the gamecube. The gameboy player was a nice edition too which made it where you could play gameboy advance games on a gamecube with a gamecube controller even. Metroid prime would be described as halo like the way it plays.Their are key differences though like the atmosphere of the game or just the feel of the game you know(game feels is something all games have in case you don’t know. ) every other metroid game thats not a prime game isn’t halo like at all. As I said metroid came before halo. Someone who works on halo actually is helping with the new prime 4. Its very grey this stuff of course. The courts have ruled that this doesn’t violate copyright. Older games than this that were closer than this. Yet theirs been ruling where games have. The one I heard about asked other gamers what they thought. Simply saying this is a clone caused them to rule that it violated copyright. This one about this game I’ve never played at all really called asteroids had something between another game called meteors was ruled that it didn’t. Funny how saying something like that would cause something like that. I mostly know this from a video on youtube made by a big video creator game theory. Asteroids is a really old game I don’t care for really. This metroid prime has a teen rating due to some of the stuff in the game almost horror like even though its not exactly horror game. Its why I say its more mature than a lot of other nintendo games like mario. Theirs very few times where anyways cussed in these games but its happened. Some of the older games at the end samus is in her underwear. Just like at the end of the play through. They didn’t need to do that. In fact samus was originally meant to be guy. Then somebody was like that it would cooler ,different to do that. Being in a space suit like that back then with the technology they had developing games you couldn’t really tell she was one. The easiest way was to do that In the late 80’s. Later on they gave the zero suit underneath her main suit. Basically just a body suit. Almost looks like something leather like what black widow in marvel usually wears. Its the game feel, the atmosphere ,that since of horror you get that people like about the game. Then once you find that upgrade that makes those things that gave that horror feeling more bearable. That also opens you up to more places in the game. I mean pretty much anyone would just love to kill that one enemy that gave you that feeling or so much trouble with ease anyways. The way they designed these games to its great if you want to go through the game fast ,or try wall jumping ,bomb jumping whatever to see what happens if you do this in the game differently or that. I mean I suppose you could see why people like to speed run (go through the game fast pretty much. Typically you would have various rules and using a timer. probably recording that in some way.) just saying anything. That about samus is just a relate able and like able backstory. Just here to play a game you know. The last one that showed her in her underwear was made in 1996 technically on the snes. The zero suit was introduced in 2004 in a remake ,and onward after that it was that if her main suit was off. One of the first video games was a metroid game too. Suppose theirs a bit of nostalgia their. That was as mature as it gets anyways. I was a teenager when I really started getting into video games just about. Metroid prime has multiple version of the game on gamecube. The most recent is the players choice version on the gamecube. If you look at certain part of a gamecube disc it typically say which version you have. 1.00 being the first version. You can do some crazy stuff in the oldest version compared to the newer ones.
